[ Using the library ]

As a library member, you will be able to borrow a wide range of materials for free.

Hyphen has a range of fiction and non-fiction books that will appeal to all ages and interests including a range of large print books, and a great range of magazines.

You can also access a large range of DVDs, from films in various genres, television series and documentaries for all ages and magazines on everything from fashion, lifestyle, sport and cooking.

We have audio books on CDs for all ages including fiction and non-fiction as well as a range of eBooks and eAudiobooks for loan via Bolinda Digital. You can also borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks when the library is closed via an online collection or through the Bolinda App - BorrowBox.

You can borrow a maximum of 50 physical items and have up to 20 reservations at a time on your library card. In addition you can borrow/reserve up to 20 e-Books and e-Audiobooks at a time.

Items are loaned out for four weeks and you are able to renew your item once more, for a further four weeks provided no-one has placed a reservation on the item.
In some circumstances, our team can provide an extended loan period, for example, when a borrower will be away or is ill. Please contact staff in advance to discuss you options.

You can renew items in person, over the phone, or online by logging into your library account.

You can only renew items before the due date either online, otherwise you will need to speak to our team via the phone or in person.

Hyphen Wodonga Library is a fine free library. We don’t charge late fees. We just ask the item is returned as soon as possible.

If an item is damaged or not returned within a certain timeframe after becoming overdue, you will be asked to pay the cost of its replacement and a processing fee.
If you are able to return the original item, in the same condition it was borrowed in, you will no longer need to pay for the item/s.

You can review your loans at any time by logging into your library account, through the website or LibsVic app. If you have an email address linked to your card, you will also receive a reminder email to renew your items just before the due date.

As part of the Libraries Victoria consortium, Hyphen members are able to access more than 3 million items from across Victorian libraries. This can be done online through the library catalogue or through our staff. When the item is available, it will be sent to Wodonga and you will be notified that it's ready for collection, this is called an intra-library loan. These loans are generally free but each library sets its own loan periods, rules for borrowing and fines for overdue material. You can also use your Hyphen borrowing card at other participating Libraries Victoria libraries if you are travelling throughout Victoria.

If the item you want is not available at Wodonga or through the Libraries Victoria, we can search further to find a library willing to lend it. This is called an inter-library loan and most libraries charge a fee for this service. We must pass that fee on to you. Staff will always let you know the likely charge before requesting an inter-library loan.

Is Baranduda closer to home?

Your reservations can be collected at Baranduda Community Centre. Nominate Baranduda Community Centre as the collection point and we will arrange for your reserved items to be available to collect during the community centers operating hours. Books can be reserved online or in person or over the phone with the Hyphen team.
