[ Using the library ]

As a library member, you will be able to borrow a wide range of materials for free.

We have a range of fiction and non-fiction books that will appeal to all ages and interests including a range of large print books.

We also have DVDs including films in various genres, television series and documentaries for all ages and magazines on everything from fashion, lifestyle, sport and cooking to children’s and teen magazines. The current issue can be borrowed but not reserved.

We have audio books on CDs for all ages including fiction and some non-fiction as well as a range of eBooks and eAudio for loan via Bolinda Digital. You can also borrow eBooks when the library is closed via an online collection or through the Bolinda App BorrowBox. They return themselves automatically and don’t incur overdue fees.

You can have a maximum of 50 items on your library card. There is a limit of 10 e-Books and 10 e-Audiobooks at a time including loans and reservations.

Our default borrowing period is four weeks. You are able to renew your item once for a further four weeks provided no-one has placed a reservation on the item. In some circumstances, our team can provide an extended loan period, for example, when a borrower will be away or is ill.

You can renew items in person, over the phone, or online by logging into your library account.

Please renew items before the due date either online, by phone or in person.

If an item is not returned within a certain timeframe after becoming overdue, you will be asked to pay the cost of its replacement.

You can review your loans at any time by logging into your library account. If you have an email address linked to your card, you will also receive a reminder email to renew your items just before the due date.

As part of the Libraries Victoria consortium, our members are able to access more than 3 million items from across Victorian libraries. This can be done online through the library catalogue or through our staff. When the item is available, it will be sent to Wodonga and you will be notified that it's ready for collection. These loans are free but each library sets its own loan periods, rules for borrowing and fines for overdue material. You can also use your Hyphen borrowing card at Libraries Victoria libraries if you are travelling throughout Victoria.

If the item you want is not available at Wodonga or through the Libraries Victoria, we can search further to find a library willing to lend it. This is called an inter-library loan and most libraries charge a fee for this service. We must pass that fee on to you. Staff will always let you know the likely charge before requesting an inter-library loan.

Reservations can be collected at Baranduda Community Centre. Nominate Baranduda Community Centre as the collection point and your reserved items will be available for collection each Wednesday. Books can be reserved online or by accessing the community catalogue at the community centre.
