Join us for an [Exchange] with local Beechworth artist Nina Machielse Hunt in our Artspace Gallery, which is currently home to her exhibition Place In Between.
This body of work was developed while Nina was undertaking a three-month residency in Hyphen’s Creative Studio, during which she embraced a spontaneous creative process by sketching and painting daily impressions of her journey between Beechworth and Wodonga.
These studies evolved into the larger works seen in this exhibition, each of which reflect her deep connection to place and the atmospheric qualities of rural countryside, native bush and the changing environment.
In this artist talk, discover how Nina’s practice has evolved, insight into her creative process, her inspirations and how the rhythm of the land has shaped her artistic lens.
